The future of technology is here with 5G data

5G is the fifth generation cellular network technology. It is an investment for the next decade and in previous mobile transitions. 5G claims to have greater speed, the ability to be more responsive, and the ability to connect more devices at once.

All four major US carriers now have some form of 5G wireless and around the beginning of 2020, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile all intend to launch 5G networks which will have a lot slower speeds and broader coverage.

In order for 5G devices to start, they will be dependent on 4G to make initial connections before trading up to 5G. Improving 4G is a major step in the development of a 5G network.

5G data primarily runs on two types of airwaves: below and above 6GHz. Lower frequency 5G networks can cover the same distances as existing cellular networks and will not need additional cell sites. Higher frequency networks can create huge channels for very high speeds. Rural areas are more likely to use lower frequencies because they have a great range from towers which is convenient.

5G networks use a system of various cell sites that divide their territory into sectors ad send encoded sectors through radio waves. The 5G radio system has the same airwaves as 4G, but can get up to 30% better speeds because of more efficient encoding. It is designed for lower latency and greater flexibility. 5G is designed to use much larger channels than 4G does, so 5G gigabyte speeds are way faster. 5G also requires larger, clear blocks of airwaves.

5G networks will have to be a lot smarter than previous systems because they are dealing with more smaller cells that can change shapes and sizes.

The biggest change 5G network will bring is in virtual and augmented reality. The very low latency and consistent speeds of 5G will give you an internet-augmented world and may also be able to help in building coverage.

5G network rollouts are being tested from city to city and will have a lot to offer when dropped. Soon 5G data will be using less energy, be more efficient, and will take much less time to implement compared to other networks.

As research and advancements are made around the world, better performance and new devices are being seen. 5G could have a major impact on the world and change the way people of generations to come will live.
